Welcome

The Clean Energy Council welcomes your participation in its inaugural major annual clean energy industry event: Clean Energy Council Conference and Exhibition 2008.

This event is set to be Australia’s premier clean energy forum in 2008 - organised by industry, for industry.

The Clean Energy Council Conference & Exhibition 2008 will commence on Monday 24 November and run until Wednesday 26 November 2008 at the acclaimed Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, Broadbeach, Queensland.

Over 700 senior managers and key decision makers are expected, from the clean energy sector within Australia and around the world. The event brings together the leading players in the demand and supply side of our sector.

The outlook for our industry has never been better – or more important. The science can no longer be ignored resulting in Australia moving swiftly to take a leading role in preparing ourselves, and our region, to meet the challenge. The clean energy industry is set to enter a phenomenal growth period over the next two decades. Australian policy makers at every level are embracing the climate change imperative and moving swiftly to install progressive, pro-business policies to rapidly deploy clean energy.

The federal government commitment of a guaranteed market of 20 per cent by 2020 and other clean energy policies will see our industry grow by potentially $20 billion and employ up to 50,000 people in just over a decade. Starting now, zero & low emission power will be a permanent, main-stream clean energy source for Australia’s growing economy.

The 2008 conference, the first for the Clean Energy Council – formed through the merger of Auswind (Australian Wind Energy Industry Association) and BCSE (Australian Business Council for Sustainable Energy) in 2007 – builds on our solid knowledge and networking foundations.

At the Clean Energy Council Conference & Exhibition 2008 you will have access to the latest policy and market developments, first hand information and knowledge on clean energy projects; in-depth briefings on recent technological advancements, energy efficiency, planning, community and new environmental initiatives.

The Clean Energy Council Conference & Exhibition 2008 curriculum is both concise and industry focused; targeting your key concerns. Sessions will address major issues surrounding the rapidly changing landscape of clean energy development in Australia as well as provide strategies on how the industry can meet growth demands.

Bringing together senior representatives from the leading stakeholders, state owned facilities, regulators, financiers, private developers, manufacturers and other key sectors, the Clean Energy Council Conference & Exhibition 2008 is a unique forum where you will gain an in-depth briefing on the clean energy industry.

We look forward to your participation.
