The most prestigious awards in the Australian renewable energy industry return in 2024.
The Clean Energy Council Awards recognise the outstanding contribution businesses and individuals are making to clean energy in Australia.
The 13th edition of the CEC Awards will feature five key categories:
- Outstanding Contribution to Clean Energy Award
- Collaboration Award
- First Nations Engagement and Participation Award
- Diversity and Inclusion Award
- Media Award
Winners in each category will be announced during the Australian Clean Energy Summit 2024 (16-17 July) in Sydney.
Nominations close on 11 June 2024.
Outstanding Contribution to Clean Energy Award
The Outstanding Contribution to Clean Energy Award is presented to someone who has made a real impact in accelerating the clean energy transition.
Former New South Wales Minister for Energy and Environment, the Honourable Matt Kean, received this award in 2023 after delivering the biggest renewable energy policy in Australia’s history.
The recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to Clean Energy Award will be chosen by the Clean Energy Council's Chief Executive Kane Thornton.
Collaboration Award
The Collaboration Award is presented in recognition of an organisation, individual or group that has worked to build consensus and progress a reform that has benefitted the Australian clean energy industry. This award was born out of the Connection Reform Initiative, a unique collaboration between the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), the CEC and many parts of the industry.
First Nations Engagement and Participation Award
The First Nations Engagement and Participation Award is presented in recognition of an individual or organisation that has demonstrated outstanding positive community engagement in relation to First Nations communities.
Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Award
The Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Award is presented in recognition of an individual or organisation that has helped improve diversity and inclusion in their organisation or industry.
Hydro Tasmania and Renewable Energy Systems (RES) were joint recipients of this award in 2023 for demonstrating a real and ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive culture across their business, creating accessible workplaces and supporting diversity, equity and including in all their forms.
CEC Media Award
The CEC Media Award celebrates excellence in storytelling and explanatory journalism, that brings to life Australia’s path to a clean energy future and assists in driving positive change in our communities. It is presented to a journalist or media organisation whose news coverage has made a real impact on conversations around clean energy.
Entries are open to all media including podcasts, YouTube, social media, and traditional formats.
