STEPS TO ACCELERATE THE TRANSITION
The four pillars of our work
If you're new to the policy and advocacy work of the Clean Energy Council, read about how our work is guided by four focus areas we believe to be the most important for accelerating Australia's transition to a clean energy economy.
Decarbonising the economy
Being a clean energy superpower means decarbonising our energy infrastructure, removing all instances of fossil fuels and embracing clean, renewable forms of energy.
Doing renewables right
Australia is one of the windiest and sunniest countries on Earth and is already charging ahead with a renewables-powered future.
Getting the grid ready
Private investment in clean energy needs to grow to accelerate the transition. Here's what we're doing to streamline connecting to, and interacting with, the grid, and help improve certainty and returns.
Investing in people and industry
Here's how we're contributing to one of the largest recruitment drives the country has ever seen, while advocating for improved workforce conditions, skills and training, and diversity across the sector.
TECHNOLOGIES AND SECTORS
Industry sectors
Renewables is a complex and ever-changing industry. Read up on our latest work in each technology area or sector and add your voice to the conversation by joining our various working groups and directorates as a member.
Electric homes and businesses
Australia is a world leader in rooftop solar, but it's just the beginning of our electrification journey. Here's how we're helping the big switch.
Hydrogen
Green hydrogen will play a key role providing a cleaner, lower emissions alternative to natural gas and other fossil fuels.
Large-scale solar
Australia is one of the sunniest countries on the planet and is already charging ahead with a renewables powered future.
Large-scale storage
Energy storage is the final piece of the renewable energy puzzle and can help enable 100% renewable generation while delivering a resilient and robust energy system.
Market, investment and grid
This sector focuses on the economic and technical regulatory environment that underpins the National Electricity Market and power system.
Offshore wind
Offshore wind is critical to enabling Australia to decarbonise its economy. Here's how we're helping it take off.
Onshore wind
Australia is one of the windiest countries on earth. Here's how we can harness its power.
