All Energy Australia announces an incredible program with over 450 industry leaders

The conference program, released today, features more than 450 experts from industry, government, academia and beyond, promising scintillating conversations and insights on Australia’s clean energy future.

The program begins on Thursday, 23 October with a discussion on ‘The path to achieving renewable energy targets by 2050’, featuring renowned economist Ross Garnaut, the Clean Energy Council’s Chief Executive Kane Thornton and the Hon. Lily D'Ambrosio MP, Victorian Minister for Climate Action, Minister for Energy and Resources and Minister for State Electricity Commission.

Session highlights from the two-days include:

• ‘Grid connection and system strength’, discussing a core issue holding back renewable projects from supplying the grid featuring AEMO’s Manager - Connections Reform, Erika Twining.
• ‘The global race for net zero’, looking at Australia’s competitiveness for capital and talent in a global context featuring Wei Sue, Acting CEO at Climateworks Centre and Frank Jotzo, Head of Energy at the ANU Institute for Climate Energy & Disaster Solutions.
• ‘Bringing social science expertise into sustainable energy transitions’, offering insights in community engagement on renewable energy and transmission projects from Australia's foremost energy social scientists at ANU, UNSW and Monash University.
• ‘Equitable community access’, looking at public ownership in renewable energy, featuring Chris Miller, CEO of SEC Victoria.
• ‘Building Australia's manufacturing prowess’, discussing opportunities for domestic battery production in the context of the $1.7bn Future Made in Australia Innovation Fund featuring Marilyne Crestias, Policy Director at the Clean Energy Investor Group.
• ‘Developing an Offshore Wind Industry in Australia’, featuring Jens Orfelt, EVP and President - Asia Pacific at RWE Renewables and Anh Mai, Executive Director Offshore Wind Energy Victoria, Department of Energy.
• ‘Building a competitive hydrogen sector’, interrogating Australia’s hydrogen prospects.
• following the Australian government’s two-billion-dollar Hydrogen Headstart fund, featuring Fiona Simon, CEO of the Australian Hydrogen Council.

The conference program will also feature speakers from the CSIRO, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Solar Victoria, Tesla, AusNet, ANZ, Origin Energy, ARUP, the EV Council, the Australian Energy Regulator, Climate Change Authority, Transgrid, AGL, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), Powerlink, RMIT, Zenith Energy, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), ARUP, Deakin University, Oceanex, Qantas and more.

Alongside the main conference program there will be five additional streams:

• ‘Empowering First Nations into the Clean Energy Journey’, supported by Good Energy Minds, will explore how the wisdom of our First Nation’s communities can guide the clean energy transition collectively to a clean energy future for all Australians. Gain valuable insights from respected Indigenous leaders.
• The myCEC Masterclass Series, supported by the Clean Energy Council, will offer solar designers and installers expert technical advice with the opportunity to earn CPD points.
• The Energy Management Zone, supported by the Energy Efficiency Council, will host sessions across both days on sustainable solutions that facilitate improved energy management and increased cost savings.
• The Victorian Government Seminar Series, presented by Solar Victoria and the Department of Energy, will address a range of topics, from growing our clean energy workforce, consumer attitudes to home electrification, industry opportunities for investment and more.
• EV Technology & Infrastructure will delve into the cutting-edge world of EV Technology and Infrastructure at All Energy Australia.

All Energy Australia will be held from 23 to 24 October 2024 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event is organised by RX Global and held in partnership with the Clean Energy Council.
