The Board of the Clean Energy Council is pleased to announce it has appointed Jackie Trad as its new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next chapter.
As a former Deputy Premier and Treasurer, Jackie brings demonstrated leadership and delivery around energy policy reform in Government, including establishing Queensland’s publicly owned clean energy company, CleanCo, and laying the groundwork for Queensland’s ambitious renewable energy and emissions reduction targets.
Jackie has proven capability in delivering consensus outcomes amongst differing stakeholders, as demonstrated in the reform of Queensland’s mining rehabilitation laws, including the establishment of a financial assurance scheme, which guarantees the provisioning of costs for rehabilitation works.
Jackie brought together environmental groups, the resources industry and regional communities to achieve these crucial world-class law reforms to protect regional jobs, protect the environment and protect industry’s investment in Queensland.
With more than 30 years’ experience in public policy, government, membership-based organisations and campaigns, Jackie’s experience will be incredibly valuable in leading and guiding the CEC’s work and influence on Australia’s transition to a clean energy economy, on behalf of members.
