The Clean Energy Council (CEC) welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback to the Australian Capital Territory’s (ACT) Consultation Paper: Minimum Standards for Rental Properties and Occupancy Law Reform. 

The CEC is supportive of the introduction of minimum standards for rental properties to address dwelling quality and progress electrification in rental homes. However, our submission provides additional recommendations to ensure renters can actively gain the benefits of Australia’s transition towards renewable energy and increase the energy performance of their homes.
