The Australian Government has committed $1 billion to the Solar Sunshot program, designed to commercialise Australian solar photovoltaic (PV) innovations domestically and enhance Australian solar manufacturing capacity.

We welcome the announcement. A successful Solar Sunshot program will allow us to establish sovereign manufacturing capability, complement international supply chains, and contribute to the diversity of supply, as the already extraordinary global demand for solar products continues to grow.

The main points of our submission relate to the program structure and indicative timetable, the proposed eligibility requirements and the merit criteria.
