The Clean Energy Council has provided a submission to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) on policy papers relating to the use of the Nature Repair Market to supply environmental offsets.

The submission supports the proposed use of the Nature Repair Market for mandatory environmental offsets, noting it could provide greater flexibility for project proponents while supporting larger-scale restoration and better biodiversity outcomes. It also outlines recommendations to improve implementation, including streamlining approval processes, clarifying stakeholder roles, providing guidance for state and territory recognition, and aligning methodologies with the proposed national offsets standard.
