Australia needs 40,000 more workers by 2030 to support the transition to clean energy.

Clean energy projects are growing across the country, but projects often have different workforce requirements which makes it difficult for industry to plan and recruit and confusing for students and workers to secure jobs and grow their careers.

For over a year, we have been working with industry in Victoria and Queensland to define the common training requirements for a safe and competent workforce on clean energy projects.

Clean energy, job ready offers employers tools to help plan and manage workforce compliance easily and provides clear pathways for workers and students to build their careers in clean energy.

The Victorian program has been funded by the Victorian Government’s Workforce Training and Innovation Fund and developed in partnership with TAFE Gippsland and Federation University. The Queensland program has been funded by the Queensland Government and developed in partnership with Energy Skills Queensland.

Clean energy, job ready is designed to support the growth of a safe, competent and qualified clean energy trade workforce in Australia through three tools.

Training Matrix
The first industry-agreed guide for qualifications, licenses and safety training needed for trade roles on clean energy projects, making workforce planning simpler for employers and training providers.
