Align with industry-agreed training requirements. Access the right people with the right skills. Build a safe and skilled workforce.
Building and operating a wind, solar or battery project requires a huge range of construction, electrical and mechanical skills. For over a year, we have been working with industry to define the common training requirements for a safe and competent workforce on clean energy projects.
The Clean energy, job ready program offers employers tools to help plan manage workforce compliance and provides clear pathways for workers and students to build their careers in clean energy.
The Victorian program has been funded by the Victorian Government’s Workforce Training and Innovation Fund and developed in partnership with TAFE Gippsland and Federation University. The Queensland program has been funded by the Queensland Government and developed in partnership with Energy Skills Queensland.
The Clean energy, job ready program helps employers build safe and skilled workforces with three tools:
Training Matrix
The first industry-agreed guide for qualifications, licenses and safety training needed for trade roles on clean energy projects, making workforce planning simpler for developers.
✔ View mainstream industry requirements for trade roles on solar, battery and onshore wind projects including mandatory and desired qualifications.
✔ Developed in collaboration with developers, EPCs, contractors, RTOs and the Victorian and Queensland governments
✔ Plan, recruit and train with confidence. Customise for your projects by adding your own requirements.
✔ Stay aligned with evolving industry skills

The Training Matrix is based on ongoing consultation with industry and is subject to change.
Skills Passport
View workers’ verified qualifications easily and manage compliance on your projects.
✔ Integrate Skills Passport into your recruitment, training and site access processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve safety and compliance.
✔ Check workers’ third-party verified credentials with the MyPass Skills Passport and obtain real-time visibility to worker credentials to keep your workforce safe and compliant.
✔ Share requirements, training and workers’ profiles with contractors and between projects to streamline data management and strengthen compliance.
✔ Single source of truth for real-time assurance of workers’ certifications and credentials.
✔ Validates certificates and documents. Fraudulent ones identified and intercepted.
✔ Keep certification and credentials current with automated reminders of upcoming expiry

Careers Pathway
A tool for students, workers and career changers to explore clean energy trade roles and the training needed to get job-ready.
✔ Show local workers and communities how they can use their existing skills working on your project.
