Announcing the 2025 recipients of the Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership.

The Clean Energy Council is pleased to announce the 10 recipients of the 2025 Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership, continuing to honour the legacy of the late Chloe Munro AO by empowering the next generation of women to grow into impactful leaders in clean energy.

These recipients join a growing network of 56 women who have been awarded this scholarship since its inception in 2021.

In its fifth round, the scholarship attracted 95 applications from women across the clean energy sector. Each application was carefully reviewed by a selection committee, with shortlisted applicants interviewed and recipients selected for their commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse sector, their understanding of the challenges women face in the industry and their drive to overcome these barriers.

Each recipient has been awarded a fully funded leadership development scholarship to undertake study with Women & Leadership Australia

The Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership is part of the Clean Energy Council’s ongoing commitment to building a diverse, skilled and capable clean energy workforce by advancing women’s leadership across all levels of the industry.

This scholarship program is made possible thanks to the generous support of our program partners, ARENA, AEMO, DEECA and Hydro Tasmania, and program supporters, Iberdrola Australia, GreenCollar, Tilt Renewables and Akaysha Energy.

The Clean Energy Council sincerely thanks all applicants for their interest and for taking the time to apply. Congratulations to the 2025 recipients, we’re proud to support your leadership development and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make across Australia’s clean energy future.

Diana Quiceno
Founder and Director, BLD Engineers

“I hope to help shape a sector that values both excellence and inclusion. My focus is on creating environments where women and migrant engineers can thrive and contribute fully to Australia’s energy transition. I want to demonstrate that social impact and project delivery can go hand in hand and that leadership built on empathy and collaboration leads to better outcomes for everyone.”

Corneli van Rooyen
Project Manager, Tilt Renewables

“My goal as a leader is to create environments where others can thrive, where diverse perspectives are heard, valued and translated into better outcomes for projects, teams and communities. I want to continue leading major renewable energy projects that deliver real impact while also using my position to advocate for greater female representation in technical and leadership roles. The clean energy transition will only be successful if it reflects the diversity, balance and creativity of the communities it serves.”

Kesaia Takau-Morrison

“I hope to accelerate women’s leadership, drive diversity and prepare a future-ready workforce to ensure the energy transition supports all communities. By leading with empathy and resilience, I aim to inspire others, foster collaboration and create visible role models for the next generation. I want to show young women that they belong, can excel and have a place as leaders in this sector.”

Leading Edge recipients

Hear from the seven recipients who will undertake the leading edge course, a four-month development program for aspiring and early-career managers.

L-R: Ava Powell-Larwood; Becky Punshon; Carmen Bas Domenech; Grace Stewart
L-R: Jana Birkby; Kaavya Jha; Natashya Quincy

Ava Powell-Larwood
Development Project Manager, RES Australia

“What I love most about the clean energy industry is its shared mission - we are all working towards the same goal of a cleaner, more sustainable future. True success in this work depends on collaboration; we achieve more and faster, when we support those around us to bring their best. As a female leader, I hope to help cultivate that environment - one where people feel supported, valued and inspired to grow. I want to uplift others as I have been uplifted and help build an industry grounded in unity, purpose and collective progress.”

Becky Punshon
Engineer, AEMO

“I am passionate about ensuring a sustainable world for future generations through Australia’s clean energy transition. In grid connection engineering, the technical challenges we face are increasingly complex, which makes diverse perspectives more important to navigate this change. As a female leader, I hope to promote diverse views and leadership styles to ensure the communities we serve are better represented in order to accelerate the energy transition.”

Carmen Bas Domenech
Renewable Energy Engineer, Energy Australia

“I want to lead others in this field to amplify the impact of inclusive, consumer-focused clean energy, and to inspire more women to see themselves shaping the future of the industry. Diversity is not just fair - it drives the best consumer energy solutions, ensuring we meet the needs of all households and communities.”

Grace Stewart
Senior Development Manager, OX2

“I believe the work we do in renewables truly matters. We’re helping Australia transition to clean energy at a pace that must align with the closure of coal-fired generators. As a leader in the clean energy sector, I hope to drive positive, multifaceted progress across the renewable energy sector from policy reform to achieving the best outcomes for the communities we work in. I want to be an inclusive leader in our industry who inspires others to maintain and improve the momentum we require for the clean energy transition.”

Jana Birkby
Project Manager, NEOEN

“Our industry urgently needs diverse skills and perspectives to meet the scale of the energy transition and women from varied backgrounds are critical to that success. My goal is to connect talented women from diverse disciplines with opportunities in clean energy, showing that their skills and perspectives are both needed and valued. I aim to inspire bright young minds to envision themselves in this industry while actively promoting greater female participation at all levels.”

Kaavya Jha
Policy Associate - Energy, Tesla

“I hope to contribute to supporting the shift away from coal-fired power plants on a technical and political basis while ensuring that the transition is one that is inclusive and equitable.”

Natashya Quincy
Product Manager, CORE Markets

“I want to make women’s contributions more visible - especially in the parts of our industry where value is often unquantified, such as systems design, communications and stakeholder engagement. Those skills are critical to the success of projects, yet rarely recognised. My goal is to help shift that perception so inclusive leadership becomes the new standard.”
