Taking place on 6 February 2024 at The Westin in Perth, WACEF 24 is Western Australia’s premier event for clean energy and industry. A diverse line-up of over 40 industry leaders will share insights on offshore wind, jobs and skills, green hydrogen, supply chains, community engagement, market outlooks and more.
“Western Australia is the nation’s economic engine room. WACEF 24 will explore the abundant opportunities for renewable energy to shape the state’s future, and with it, Australia’s future success and prosperity as a clean energy superpower,” said Clean Energy Council Chief Executive, Kane Thornton.
Renewable generation in WA reached 35 per cent in 2023, with the majority of supply coming from rooftop solar.
Meanwhile, investment in renewable generation and storage in WA exceeded $1.6 billion during the year, nearly one third of the national total. Six projects reached financial commitment, tied with Victoria for second place behind Queensland's total of seven projects.
“As renewables continue to grow in popularity and integrate into the key industries and sectors driving Western Australia’s economy, the Golden State looks set to shine as an example to other states and grids, both here at home, and around the world,” Thornton said.
