The clean energy industry is growing quickly with 40,000 new workers needed by 2030 across a range of roles.

A new clean energy required training program will soon help industry, training organisations and workers understand the skills required to work on clean energy projects in Victoria and Queensland.

The clean energy required training program is designed to support the growth of a safe, competent and qualified clean energy trade workforce in Australia.

Find the skills and training to work on renewable energy projects

A new digital matrix will outline the necessary qualifications, skills, and safety training for common roles in clean energy from arborists and drone pilots to wind turbine technicians and electrical inspectors. You will also be able to find the accredited courses available in Victoria and Queensland to help you gain the right qualifications.

Prove you’re qualified with a digital passport

Upload certificates to a verified digital passport to demonstrate to employers you have the necessary skills and qualifications to work on clean energy projects. You will be able to create your own digital passport to track and share skills and qualifications with industry, so you can more easily move between projects, employers and roles across the clean energy sector.

The Victorian program has been funded by the Victorian Government’s Workforce Training and Innovation Fund. The Queensland program has been developed in partnership with Energy Skills Queensland.

The program will launch in April/May 2025.
